Galata Tower Miniature - Stainless Steel Istanbul Keepsake

One of the most recognisable landmarks of the Istanbul skyline, the Galata Tower, reimagined as a handcrafted 304 stainless steel miniature. A desk or shelf piece with real weight, and a refined keepsake to give from Istanbul.

Precision-cast 304 stainless steel

The Galata Tower miniature is cast in 304 stainless steel by the lost-wax method in our Istanbul atelier and finished by hand. Its arched windows, stone courses and conical roof are cast as a single solid metal piece. Because each one is cast individually, small variations in texture are part of its handmade character.

Three sizes, three finishes

Choose a small (6 cm), medium (8.5 cm) or large (10 cm) tower, or the set that holds all three, in a bright polished, a raw cast or a deep black finish. Stand the three together for a graduated skyline, or give a single tower as a keepsake of Istanbul.

THE MYTH

The Tower That Watches the City

The Galata Tower rose in 1348 as a lookout at the highest point of the Genoese merchants’ settlement across the Golden Horn; its first name was the Latin “Christea Turris”, the Tower of Christ. Ever since, it has stood as a stone watchman over ships entering the harbour, the city’s rooftops and the light on the strait. From whichever side you look at Istanbul, it is the first line of the skyline you recognise.

This miniature carries that line onto your desk. It is produced in our atelier by investment casting: a hand-shaped wax model, a refractory mould, then 304 stainless steel poured at high heat. The arched windows, stone courses and conical roof are cast as a single solid piece of metal, and the surface is finished by hand.

It comes in small, medium and large, and as a set of all three, in three finishes. Stand them side by side and a graduated skyline appears; a single tower stays on your shelf for years as a keepsake of Istanbul.
